One of our “finders” found this chest of drawers that needed some TLC.
It was a little plain and we envisioned some pretty pink and greens that are the color of the year. We were thinking… beachy fun, coastal bungalow… Palm Beach!
Originally it was fine but needed a bit of sassing up. We started with sanding and shoring up the drawers with repairing rails and several coats of candle wax to make them glide smoothly. Then it was time for 2 coats of heavy duty clear primer/sealer. After that it was 2 coats of a primer/paint combination of a pinky fun color.
Now we decided to add a bit of custom made crackle medium before applying 2 coats of a light green.
After sealing it we realized we wanted a bit more of the pinky fun color to shine through so we hand dry brushed it until we got it to the AHA point that made us smile. We painted the blue handles with a coat of the light green and then with the pinky fun color on top of that.
And here she is…Palm Beachy chest of drawers. She found a new home and that makes us happy after spending several days with this piece.
